For instance, ideas based on your list of highs, lows and turning points from chapter one might feature an exotic vacation (high), the scene of an accident (low) or a place of employment (turning point). Now do the four-step process (page 114) for each idea. Once you have established the right tone of voice for each poem, do first drafts. (Note: Don't worry about the form of your poems — rhymed, metered, free verse. Just write your drafts in a style that pleases you. The focus now is on voice.)
