Talking with a tutor

On some courses tutors offer tutorials to discuss students' assignments. It is up to you to make good use of these - for instance, by rereading your assignment before you see the tutor and by identifying any feedback or issue that you would like to have your tutor's opinion on. Tutors conduct these tutorials in their own way, but they too will find it easier if you are prepared and know what you want from them. Some tutors offer sessions, either individually or in groups, on assignment drafts and outlines, which are more obviously developmental for your writing. It is really important to make good use of talking with your tutor even though you may now have moved on to other work. Tutors are your best source of expertise on writing in their subject area.
